FrequentlyAskedQuestions
Q: What is the dodo? A: For one thing, the dodo is the embodiment or personification of the statement, "Life loves irony;" this Zootopian incarnation being just the opposite of one who is "as dumb as a dodo." On the other hand, while the dodo may be many things, he is certainly not a coyote.
Q: Why does Deaudeux (pronounced, doe-DEW) and Company wear ‘zoot’ suits and eyeglasses? A: Aside from the obvious fact that ‘zoot' is part of the word Zootopia (which is itself a recombination of zoo and utopia), the zoot suit makes the wearer look 'cool.' And as for the eyeglasses, a small reference to the zooty's spectacles can also be found in the word Zootopia: opia is Greek for all things to do with the eyes, such as corrective lens. However, Deaudeux and Company do not always sport a fine ‘zoot’ and specs: sometimes they show up in a prison-style leotard and a blindfold, and sometimes you'll see them sporting a leather helmet and goggles, so there really is no limit because they know no limit when it comes to style…
Q: Why is Van Geaudeux - an ordinary though unnaturally artistic dodo bird - so snake-bit in love with an albatross named Miss Molly Mawkins? A: Though interspecies romance is frowned upon on Planet Zootopia, this affair of the heart is not so taboo due to the ancestral pigeon-link betwixt dodos and albatrosses. Besides, much the same as style, when it comes to matters concerning the heart, love knows no limit.
